You can replace any of the yarn brands with anything you prefer 🙂 I know that Big Twist Baby Bear isn’t available anymore and the alternative is Loops and Threads. I’m not quite sure if they are exact dupes because Erica from Doseofkawaii showed that the Big Twist Posh isn’t the exact same as the Loops and Threads Posh Purl. They mention that it is the same on their website but it might not be. Maybe in the future they might change it but for now it’s as good as it’s going to get. Or you can use Premier Parfait Chunky. I love that brand too 🙂

Hands: Follow the pattern for the hands in the video. You can either sew the hands into the arm holes or glue them. Gluing them didn’t work as well. I sewed them on instead. Since you are using medium worsted yarn to sew the hands into the arms, you won’t see the seams as much because the Bernat Blanket yarn is so thick, it hides the yarn in its fluffiness.

At this point sew the zipper on. Make sure that your zipper is the right size. If it’s not the right size, cut it shorter. I used a backstitch to sew it on.

Crochet into the next 6sc. You should have a total of 16 stitches. This is Rnd 6. Place a marker here.

Rnd 8. This is where you connect the thumb. The thumb is the same as the other fingers but with one less row. Continue to crochet onto the thumb with 4sc. You should have a total of 20sc. Do 1sc to completely join the thumb. Add a marker here.

How to Make My Melody

A couple of weeks ago I posted something about my daughter’s 1st birthday. It’s a bunny theme and I decided to make little bunnies for party favors. I also made a My Melody for her. I’ve decided to give this pattern for free here on my website.

Level: Intermediate, must have some sewing and embroidery experience

Type of stitch used to sew pieces together: Whip stitch

NOTE: Stuff as you go along. The only thing not stuffed is the flower.

Materials:

Medium worsted yarn. I used Red Heart Super Saver. Pink, purple, gold, brown, white and cream colors.

Ears (Make 2) and Body:

With pink color. 6sc in magic circle. (6)

Face:

Use brown yarn to embroider her eyes. I used white at the corners of her eyes to make them more alive.
Use gold yarn to embroider her nose.
Finally, use brown yarn to embroider her mouth.
