MATERIALS:

  1. Size F crochet hook
  2. Gold, black, red, blue and white yarn
  3. Fabric glue

BODY:

With gold yarn.

6sc in circle.

2sc in sc.

1sc, 2sc in sc.

2sc, 2sc in sc.

3sc, 2sc in sc.

4sc, 2sc in sc.

1sc in each sc. For 9 rows.

1sc, 2sc in sc.

In the next 30 stitches –>[5sc, 2sc in sc]; 1sc in the rest of the stitches.

1sc in each stitch.

In the next 35 stitches –> [4sc, 2sc in sc]; 1sc in the rest of the stitches.

1sc in each stitch. For 3 rows.

In the next 42 stitches –> [5sc, 2sc in sc]; 1sc in the rest of the stitches.

1sc in each stitch. For 4 rows.

In the next 49 stitches –> [6sc, 2sc in sc]; 1sc in the rest of the stitches.

1sc in each sc. For 4 rows.

In the next 56 stitches –> [7sc, 2sc in sc]; 1sc in the rest of the stitches.

1sc in each sc. For 3 rows.

7sc, sc2tog. For the last 6 stitches –> [4sc, sc2tog].

6sc, sc2tog. For the last 5 stitches –> [3sc, sc2tog].

5sc, sc2tog. For the last 4 stitches –> [2sc, sc2tog].

4sc, sc2tog. For the last 3 stitches –> [1sc, sc2tog].

3sc, sc2tog. For the last 2 stitches –> [sc2tog].

2sc, sc2tog. 1sc in the last stitch.

2sc, sc2tog until you have 11 stitches left.

1sc, sc2tog. 1sc in last 2 stitches.

Sc2tog. And close gap.

LEGS:

With gold yarn.

Pick up 23 stitches for legs.

1sc in each sc. For 25 rows.

ARMS:

With gold yarn.

Pick up 23 stitches for arms.

1sc in each sc. For 7 rows. After making 3 rows sew the sides of the arms to the body. This is similar to how I did Sonic’s spikes. This will allow the arms to dangle to the side instead of sticking right out to the side.

4sc, sc2tog. 1sc in the last 5 stitches.

1sc in each sc. For 8 rows.

3sc, sc2tog.

1sc in each sc. For 9 rows.

2sc, sc2tog.

Sc2tog. Finish off.

SHORTS:

With blue yarn.

Pick up 78 stitches for shorts.

5sc, 2sc in sc.

1sc in each sc. For 9 rows.

Crochet until you reach the middle of the body. Then chain 10 and create a slip stitch with the opposite stitch on the back. Make sure that each leg hole has 55 stitches each.

1sc in each sc. For 8 rows.

Chain 10 for the other leg and do the same. Sew the middle together.

CIRCLES FOR SHORTS:

With red yarn.

6sc in circle.

2sc in each sc.

1sc, 2sc in sc.

2sc, 2sc in sc.

HALF CIRCLES FOR SHORTS:

With red yarn.

3sc in circle.

Chain 1. 2sc in sc.

Chain 1. 1sc, 2sc in sc.

BOTTOM OF SHOES:

With white yarn.

3sc in circle.

Chain 1. 2sc in sc.

Chain 1. 1sc, 2sc in sc.

Chain 1. 2sc, 2sc in sc.

Chain 1. 1sc in the back part of the half circle so that you end up with 11 stitches.

1sc in each sc. For 11 rows.

Sc2tog in the first 2 and last two stitches for each row until you are left with 3 stitches. Finish off.

Pick  up 51 stitches at the perimeter of the bottom of the shoe.

1sc in each sc.

TOP OF SHOES:

With white yarn.

3sc in circle.

Chain 1. 2sc in sc.

Chain 1. 1sc, 2sc in sc.

Chain 1. 2sc, 2sc in sc.

Chain 1. 3sc, 2sc in sc.

Chain 1. 4sc, 2sc in sc.

Pick up 13 stitches at the back of the half circle.

1sc in each sc. For 8 rows.

Sc2tog in first and last 2 stitches until you are left with 3 stitches on last row.

Sew onto bottom part and stuff.

SHOE COLLAR:

With white yarn.

Pick up stitches where the foot should go. Do the same thing as you did with ToeJam. Just make the circle bigger because his legs have a thicker diameter. [28 stitches]

1sc in each sc for 3 rows.

BLACK STRIPS ON SHOES:

With black yarn.

Chain 8.

1sc in second chain from hook. 1sc in rest of chains.

1sc in each sc for 16 rows.

Sew on front part of shoe.

SUNGLASSES:

With black yarn.

Chain 25.

1sc in second chain from hook. 1sc in next 6 chains.

ANNTENNAE:

With gold yarn.

Pick up 9 stitches on top of head.

Sc2tog but leave the last stitch alone. So now you end up with 5 stitches.

2sc in each sc until you get about 2.5 inches.

2sc in next 4 stitches. 1sc in last stitch.

1sc in each sc for 1 row.

Sc2tog until gap is closed.
