Sonic Sackboy

HEAD:

1a. Start with blue yarn. Create a ring as shown in this video.

1b. Then create 6 sc in the ring. Then make a slip stitch with the very first stitch you created.

1c. 2sc in each sc. [12]

2. 1sc, 2sc in sc (repeat until marker)[18]

3. 2sc, 2sc in sc (repeat until marker)[24]

4. 3sc, 2sc in sc (repeat until marker)[30]

5. 4sc, 2sc in sc (repeat until marker)[36]

6. 5sc, 2sc in sc (repeat until marker)[42]

7. 6sc, 2sc in sc (repeat until marker)[48]

8. 1sc only in back loops (Do this for two rows)[48]

9. 1sc in each sc. Do this for 7 rows.

10. Pull yarn through next stitch and then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in sc. Pull yarn through next stitch and then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in the next 7 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch and then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in sc. Pull yarn through next stitch and then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in the next 7 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch and then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in sc. Pull yarn through next stitch and then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 25 stitches.

11. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in the next 2 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 5 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 3 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 5 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 2 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 25 stitches.

12. 1sc in sc. Pull cream yarn through next stitch and then pull yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 21 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch and then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 24 stitches.

13. 1sc in sc. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 20 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 24 stitches.

14. 1sc in sc. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 2sc tog. [(1sc in next 2 stitches, 2sc tog.)<— Repeat this sequence until you reach the last two cream stitches.] Pull yarn through the next two stitches then pull blue yarn through three loops on hook. 2sc tog. [(1sc in next 2 stitches, 2sc tog.)<—Reapeat this sequence until the end of the row.]

15. 1sc in sc. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 2sc tog. [(1sc in next 2 stitches, 2sc tog.)<— Repeat this sequence until you reach the last two cream stitches.] 1sc in sc. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 2sc tog. [(1sc in next 2 stitches, 2sc tog.)<—Reapeat this sequence until the end of the row.]

16. 1sc in sc. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 2sc tog. [(1sc in next 2 stitches, 2sc tog.)<— Repeat this sequence until you reach the last two cream stitches.] 1sc in sc. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 2sc tog. [(1sc in next 2 stitches, 2sc tog.)<—Reapeat this sequence until the end of the row.]

17. Keep on doing the same things until you end up with 11 stitches.
li>BODY:

18. Now, still using the blue yarn, do 2sc in each sc.

19. 1sc in the next 4 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 3 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 17 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 2 stitches.

20. Chain 1 and turn. 1sc in the next 2 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 16 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 2 stitches.

21. Chain 1 and turn. 1sc. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull blue yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 16 stitches. Pull yarn through next stitch then pull cream yarn through both loops on hook. 1sc in next 2 stitches. [Repeat all of this for 10 rows.]

22. 1sc in each sc with blue yarn.

23. 2sc tog in only the back loops.

24. 2sc tog until you close the gap.

ARMS:

25. With cream colored yarn. Pick up 6 stitches where the arms should be. Please watch my L sackboy tutorial to learn how to do this.

26. 2sc in each sc.

27. Crochet in the back loops for the top 6 stitches and the front loops for the bottom 6 stitches. Look at the L sackboy tutorial for this part if you are not sure how this is done.

28. 1sc in each sc. For 3 rows.

29. 1sc, 2sc in sc.

Change to white yarn.

30. 1sc in each sc.

31. Create the fingers.

GLOVE FOLD:

32. With white yarn. Chain 4.

33. 1sc in each sc for 17 rows.

34. Make two and sew onto doll just like I did with the Ezio Sackboy doll gloves.

LEGS:

35. With blue yarn. Pick up 7 stitches where the legs should be. Check out my previous L Sackboy tutorial to see how this is done.

36. 2sc in each sc.

37. 1sc in each sc. For 4 rows.

38. Change to red. 1sc in next 2 stitches. 2sc in sc.

39. 1sc in each sc. For 2 rows.

30. 2sc tog in the back loops only.

31. 2sc tog until you close the gap.

SOCKS:

32. With white yarn. Chain 3.

33. 1sc in each sc for 16 rows.

34. Finish off. Create two.

STRIPES ON SHOES:

35. With white yarn. Chain 2.

36. 1sc in the second chain from hook.

37. 1sc.

38. Finish off. Make 4 and sew onto the sides of the shoes.

NOTE: Remember to stuff the spikes before finishing off.

SPIKE #1 [Middle top of head]:

39. With blue yarn. Pick up 28 stitches in the middle top of his head as shown in the video.

40. 1sc in next 5 stitches. 2sc tog. [23]

41. 1sc in each sc for 4 rows.

42. 1sc in next 3 stitches. 2sc tog. [19]

43. 1sc in each sc.

44. 1sc in next 2 stitches. 2sc tog.

45. 1sc in each sc.

46. 1sc, 2sc tog.

47. 1sc in each sc.

48. 1sc, 2sc tog.

49. 2sc tog until you close the gap. You should end up with a cone-like tip. It should resemble a spike on a hedghog’s back.

SPIKE #2 [Left top side of head]:

50. With blue yarn. Pick up 22 stitches.

51. 1sc in next 5 stitches. 2sc tog. [19]

52. 1sc in each sc for 4 rows.

53. 1sc in next 3 stitches. 2sc tog.

54. 1sc in each sc.

55. 1sc in next 2 stitches. 2sc tog.

56. 1sc in each sc for 2 rows.

57. 1sc, 2sc tog.

58. 1sc in sc for 2 rows.

59. 2sc tog until you close the gap.

SPIKE #3 [Right top side of head]:

60. With blue yarn. Pick up 22 stitches.

61. 1sc in next 5 stitches. 2sc tog. [19]

62. 1sc in each sc for 4 rows.

63. 1sc in next 3 stitches. 2sc tog.

64. 1sc in each sc.

65. 1sc in next 2 stitches. 2sc tog.

66. 1sc in each sc for 2 rows.

67. 1sc, 2sc tog.

68. 1sc in sc for 2 rows.

69. 2sc tog until you close the gap.

SPIKE #4 [Middle, right below spike #1]:

70. With blue yarn. Pick up 19 stitches.

71. 1sc in next 3 stitches. 2sc tog.

72. 1sc in each sc for 4 rows.

73. 1sc in next 2 stitches. 2sc tog.

74. 1sc in each sc.

75. 1sc, 2sc tog.

76. 1sc in each sc.

77. 2sc tog until you close the gap.

78. Finsih off.

79. These are just four examples of spikes. You can create the others wherever you want. They don’t have to be the same as mine.

WHITES OF EYES:

80. Chain 7.

81. 1sc in each sc for 6 rows.

82. 2sc tog. 1sc in next 2 stitches. 2sc tog.

83. 2sc tog twice.

84. Finish off and make 2. Sew onto face and put in eyes and nose.

85. Chain 19 and finish off. Make two. Sew this around the arch of the eyes so that the eyes don’t look like they are popping out of his face.

EARS:

86. Chain 2.

87. 3sc in second chain from hook.

88. 2sc in each sc.

89. 1sc, 2sc in sc.

90. 2sc, 2sc in sc.

91. Finish off. Make 2.

92. Create a smaller triangular piece for the front of his ears.

93. Chain 2 with cream colored yarn.

94. 2sc in second chain from hook.

95. 2sc in each sc.

96. 1sc, 2sc in sc.

97. 1sc in each sc.

98. Finish off. Create 2.

99. Sew and stuff the ears.
