Make Your Own Minion

Materials:

1. Yellow, blue, black, grey, cream yarn.
2. Orange button/safety eyes. (~2cm in diameter)
3. Scissors.
4. F5 crochet hook.
5. Stuffing

Head:
1. With yellow yarn. (6sc in magic circle) [6]
2. 2sc in each st around. [12]
3. (1sc in first st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [18]
4. (1sc in first 2st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [24]
5. (1sc in first 3st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [30]
6. (1sc in first 4st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [36]
7. (1sc in first 5st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [42]
8. (1sc in first 6st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [48]
9. 1sc in each st. For 20 rows. [48]
10. (1sc in first 6st. Sc2tog.) x 6 [42]
11. (1sc in first 5st. Sc2tog.) x 6 [36]
12.(1sc in first 4st. Sc2tog.) x 6 [30]
13. (1sc in first 3st. Sc2tog.) x 6 [24]
14. (1sc in first 2st. Sc2tog.) x 6 [18]
15. (1sc in first st. Sc2tog.) x 6 [12]
16. Sc2tog until gap is small enough to sew closed. Remember to stuff the body before you sew.
17. FO.

**Don’t forget to put the eyes into the doll before you close it up if you are using safety eyes. Remember that safety eyes have to be placed where you want them to be before you sew. Button eyes can be placed in after. If you forget to put the safety eyes in, you can also use a strong adhesive to attach them.**

Clothes:
1. With blue yarn. (6sc in magic circle) [6]
2. 2sc in each st around. [12]
3. (1sc in first st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [18]
4. (1sc in first 2st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [24]
5. (1sc in first 3st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [30]
6. (1sc in first 4st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [36]
7. (1sc in first 5st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [42]
8. (1sc in first 6st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [48]
9. (1sc in first 7st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [54]
10. 1sc in each st. For 4 rows. [54]
11. 1sc in first 12st.
11. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in each st. For 5 rows.
12. FO.
13. Pick up stitches on back for the back part of the jumper. Skip 9 stitches on each side. This would mean that you would have to pick up 24 stitches for the back part. This would ensure that the front and back are centered.
15. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in each st. For 4 rows. [24]
16. FO.
17. Slip the body of the doll into the clothes and sew the clothes secure.

Straps (Make 2):
1. With blue yarn. Chain 3.
2. 1sc in each chain starting in second chain from hook. [2]
3. CHain 1. TUrn work. 1sc in each st. For 13 rows. You can have a few rows more or less that what I have. This depends on what fits for your minion. [2]
4. FO. Sew both straps on doll. Make sure that both sides match each other. When sewing the straps on, keep in mind that they have to be wide enough for the arms to fit through when you make them.

Arms (Make 2):
1. With yellow yarn. Pick up 9 stitches where the arms should be. [9]
2. 1sc in each st around. For 12 rows. [9]
3. Change to black yarn. (1sc in first 2st. 2sc in next st.) x 3 [12]
4. Divide into 3 parts to make 3 fingers. Each finger should have 4 stitches.
5. FO.

Eyes (Make 2):
1. With white/cream yarn. 6sc in magic circle. [6]
2. sc in each st around. [12]
3. (1sc in first st. 2sc in next st.) x 6 [18]
4. FO. Sew onto face.

Goggles:
1. With grey yarn. Chain 24. Make a slip stitch with first chain.
2. 1sc in each chain. [24]
3. FO. Sew onto doll around eyes to make the goggles.

Goggle Straps:
1. With black yarn. Chain 3.
2. 1sc in each chain starting in the second chain from the hook. [2]
3. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in each st. Make as many rows as what would fit around his head.
4. FO. Sew onto doll.

Legs (Make 2):
1. With blue yarn. Pick up 6 stitches where the legs should be. [6]
2. 1sc in each st. For 2 rows. [6]
3. FO.

Top parts of shoes (Make 2):
1. With black yarn. 6sc in magic circle.
2. 1sc in st. 3sc in next st. 1sc in the next 2 st. 3sc in next st. 1sc in last st. [10]
3. 1sc in each st only in the back loops. [10]
4. FO.

Sole of shoes (Make 2):
1. With black yarn. 6sc in magic circle.
2. 1sc in st. 3sc in next st. 1sc in the next 2 st. 3sc in next st. 1sc in last st. [10]
3. FO. Sew this at bottom of the top part of the shoes. Stuff.

Sew the shoes onto the bottom of the legs. Use a few strands of short black yarn to put the hair on the head. The amount of hair depends on your preference. You can also look at some reference photos as a guide.
