I had a blog post a while back about my search for a camera. This time I wanted something a little more fancy that will capture the perfect moments of our family. I didn’t know what I was looking for at first until I started watching and reading reviews. My mom suggested asking my dad for advice because he did a lot of research on DSLRs and mirrorless cameras. I had no idea there was such a thing as mirrorless cameras. And I didn’t know that my dad had one. I knew he had a camera but I didn’t know that was what they were called. It’s pretty cool because they are more compact and you don’t need to carry them in a backpack, unless you have multiple lenses.
I searched for a list of cameras for amateur photographers that wouldn’t break the bank. Here is are the cameras I was considering.
I read reviews of professional photographers reviewing each of these cameras and they all seem pretty decent. It just all came down to the details. What was I looking for in a camera? At first, all I wanted was a camera that took great pictures. Then I started watching videos comparing cameras against one another. The Canon EOS M50 came out on top. It had a fully articulated touch screen, a fully working touch screen, built in flash, a mic jack, amazing autofocus, a pretty decent sensor size, takes great low light images, image stabilization and all for an affordable price. Reviewers have said that this camera is easy to use and one of the best cameras for beginners.
The autofocus is what hooked me. I did not even know what I was looking for until I saw a YouTube review about it. Having two children, it’s impotant to have camera that can capture all their special moments. The Canon M50 seems perfect enough to do just that. The touchscreen can also flip all the way around for that, oh so necessary, selfie shot. If you want to protect the screen, you can do that by flipping the screen over on the back.
For those of you who are professional photographers, what do you think of this camera? I’m excited to see what this camera has to offer and how it will improve our family photos. Stay tuned for a full review!
