Review: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

I came into this movie with high hopes. A lot of people were raving about this and we just recently got to see this. So first of all, if you guys don’t know where this movie falls into the Star Wars saga, this is the order of the movies so far:

1. Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
2. Episode 2: Attack of the Clones
3. Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith
4. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
5. Episode 4: A New Hope
6. Episode 5: Empire Strikes Back
7. Episode 6: Return of the Jedi
8. Episode 7: The Force Awakens

So this movie is about the creation of the Death Star and the rebels try to steal the plans in order to destroy the Death Star. It’s a pretty epic film. The main character is Jyn. She is part of the rebel cause. She is the daughter of Galen Erso, the Empire’s weapons expert. Galen Erso helps the Empire to build the Death Star which has the power to destroy entire planets. He had built at sort of kill switch so that the rebels can find a way to destroy it.

This is one of the sadder Star Wars movies. Being part of the rebels really means that you have to sacrifice yourself for the cause. The cause is more important and you have to commit yourself fully for the good of everyone else.

I loved this movie and would urge you to see it if you haven’t already!

Audience: PG-13
Epic factor: 10
Acting: 9
Story: 9
Direction: 10
Would I recommend: Yes

*Note: Based on a scale from 1 to 10. 1 being the worst and 10 being the best you could get in a category.
