Facebook, FB or whatever you call it

Social media has changed since I’ve joined Facebook, Twitter and a slew of other sites. I remember when Facebook use to just be for college students. Then high school students were allowed to join but were separate from the college kids. Facebook then included people other than students. It used to be so cool back then to be part of a social network that only included some people. But now anyone can join and it’s feeling a bit creepy on there at times. But aside from that, posts on there use to include how someone’s day went. It used to be like twitter. But when people started using Twitter more for posts like that, Facebook changed. Someone on the radio once said that Facebook posts used to focus on a person’s original thoughts and now it’s a bunch of reposts and redirects to other links. He’s got a point there. I don’t remember the last time I didn’t see a meme, a link to a YouTube video or a personality quiz. It takes away from the spontaneous aspect of Facebook. Not that those posts were “groudbreakingly” interesting to begin with, but they were still something. Now everyone’s post is more predictable and the same. Someone posts something about what color a certain dress is and everyone else follows. Then again, not everyone is like this. I’m generalizing, of course. But you guys get the point I’m trying to make right? I’m just wondering where Facebook will take us next. What new trend will follow this one. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
