I don’t know about you guys but I prefer to buy actual books. I know that e-books and audio books are cheaper alternatives and convenient, but nothing beats the genuine article. The smell of the pages, the crisp feeling of a new book. I like to see my books lined up on my shelf. I may be old-fashioned but I never really got into e-books. Sometimes I like to go to the bookstore and just look around. Browsing. Sometimes I don’t buy anything. I just like being around books. I used to read a lot when I was little. My sister and I loved to go to the library to borrow books. I remember reading those Nancy Drew novels my mom read when she was younger. As I got older and school became more hectic, I stopped reading. I’ve become lazy to read which it quite upsetting since I used to love to read. Now I’m more into mangas because they are quick reads. I do have the Harry Potter books from last Christmas. I will try to get through them. I started to read the first book and I’m loving it already.

Since e-books are more popular, I worry about the existence of bookstores. I feel like they’re going to disappear one day. They’ve already gotten rid of the Borders in the mall where I live. I keep looking to see if they are going to open another one but that spot is still empty. I guess this is just the trend that we’re all going to have to get used to. And it’s not only that it’s happening now. It’s been happening for a while. I just hope that the Barnes & Noble near me doesn’t close down.

I agree with you! I sometimes use e-books because the book I want might not be in stock and I’m too eager to read it! But reading e-books just isn’t the same as the actual books I agree 100% on that. I don’t know why but it feels like I am missing out by not buying the actual book! I too have gotten too lazy to read books because of school (I have time to read it at night but I am just way too tired to read by then, when I try I usually start to doze off)! The Harry Potter novels were very good, it is very worth reading! Now a days I only buy my novels, the pile of “Books to read” just keep building up and building up. I still have novels that came out last summer that I still need to read! I too am worried about the existence of book stores as well! Libraries too, my high school said that in 10 years most high schools (in my area) will not have books in libraries anymore. I like the fact that technology is taking over the world to make our lives easier, but is it making it a little too easy? I think that it is taking out the fun in some things in life!

    1. Oh wow, in 10 years huh? Having no books would be pretty sad. I’ve resorted to audio books because I don’t have time anymore.
